Welcome to Noosa – One year onJune 4th, 2014 | | industry
Nearly 200 members of the Noosa tourism industry celebrated proudly last week, with the ‘Welcome to Noosa – one year on’ industry event held at Noosa Boathouse. The event celebrated the one year anniversary of Tourism Noosa’s launch of the Welcome to Noosa online regional induction and customer service program.
Aimed at the revitalising the quality service culture in the Noosa region, the program provides basic information on Noosa – why the region is so special, its history, key things to do in Noosa, information on the Noosa biosphere and more as well as providing great customer service strategies and information on workplace health and safety.
The program helps operators to deliver a memorable experience for Noosa visitors and local customers alike. This in turn is increasing the likelihood of increased and repeat visitation which will help retain and build local jobs. Tourism Noosa has been delighted with the take up of the program over the past year, with now over 850 participants signing up. A diverse range of operators have completed the program ranging from restaurants and accommodation, through to tour and activities operators as well as Noosa Council and local businesses including pharmacists, real estate agents, optometrists and more.
General Manager for Tourism Noosa Mr Damien Massingham said „A huge congratulations to the entire Noosa tourism industry for embracing the program. One year on and the Welcome to Noosa program is still achieving fantastic results with the program having also been recognised by the Queensland Government”.
The Premier Campbell Newman commented on the program’s achievement. „Firstly, I wish to congratulate you on the program being such a success. It is great to see that you have achieved high numbers of participation and received very positive feedback. I commend the efforts and enthusiasm of Tourism Noosa in its cooperative approach to strengthening your local industry”, he said.
In partnership with the Welcome to Noosa program Tourism Noosa also launched the new ‘Welcome to Noosa Customer Service Awards Program’ at the event.
