Wake Up! top the Aussies in HOSCARs AwardsFebruary 14th, 2019 | | Accommodation
Wake Up! Sydney and Wake Up! Byron Bay have earned top honours at the 2019 hostelword.com HOSCARs Awards. Sydney placed seventh in the Extra-Large Hostel category and Byron Bay finished tenth in the Large Hostel Category.
The Sydney and Byron Bay properties are the only two hostels across Australia and New Zealand to be included in these categories.
Wake Up! Sydney was also named Best Hostel in Sydney for the fourth consecutive year.
The annual HOSCARs Awards recognise the best hostels across the world as voted by their customers. With a whopping 1.2 million reviews split across 50,000 Hostelworld properties worldwide, the HOSCARs are considered the holy grail of hostel awards.
Christian Millett, Owner Operator of Wake Up! said:
„We’re thrilled to be recognised by the HOSCARs for the fourth year running and to rank in three categories is more than we could have hoped for.
„We’re so proud that our family-owned and run business has stood the test of time. For the past 16 years we have continued to innovate and constantly improve our product.
In recent years, we recognised the changing nature of the youth traveller and what is important to them, therefore turning our focus to health, wellness and culture.”
Across all Wake Up! properties, guests are now able to partake in complimentary yoga, personal training, guided walking tours and more. Bike, surfboard and SUP hire are also all-inclusive at Wake Up! Byron Bay.
Bondi Backpackers, currently under renovation, is set to reopen its doors as Wake Up! Bondi Beach in April of this year.
In Melbourne, the Wake Up! brand will cement itself in the heart of the busy Flinders Lane precinct, converting the six-level Heritage Listed Tomasetti House, into a brand new 470 bed facility, due to open in 2021.
ED: Congratulations from The Byte, FANTASTIC achievement.
