Supporting Local: Taste the Barossa and local Adelaide Hotels donate over $4,000 to LHFJuly 30th, 2019 | | industry
There are many SA businesses (Little Heroes Foundation included) that rely on the ongoing support from the general public to continue having a positive impact on our communities here in SA. Taste the Barossa, a new addition to Team Little Heroes, are one of these businesses.
After meeting with Dallas and Nikki (owners/operators of Taste of the Barossa) in late 2018, we learned more about how they have grown their small family business into the only company in Australia to have been ranked #1 on TripAdvisor for 8 consecutive years, and with more excellent reviews (1048) than any tour company in SA! From the beginning, we knew that their passion for supporting local was an integral component of their business, the same as it is for us here at Little Heroes Foundation.
We are excited to confirm that through our partnership and thanks to the support of local Adelaide hotels, Taste the Barossa have donated over $4,000 to support seriously ill children since the beginning of 2019!
This is because Taste the Barossa donate 10% of the proceeds from direct bookings made to Taste the Barossa by hotel staff. The idea came about after changes to hotel concierge booking procedures inspired the Taste the Barossa team to want to give back to a local charity on any bookings that were not charged a commission. This means that an important part of this donation process is that hotels continue to book directly through Taste the Barossa.
Little Heroes Foundation would like to thank all hotels involved for their continued generosity and support of this initiative.
ED: Dallas is one of the early backpacker operators (formerly of Groovy Grape fame) and still sees the importance of grass roots marketing to attract business.
