Experience Co, formally Skydive the Beach, has finalised its $19.6 million takeover of GBR Helicopters

November 6th, 2017 | | industry

Experience Co Limited (formally Skydive the Beach) is an adventure tourism company which had the vision of becoming the largest and most respected of its kind in the world. With a market capitalisation of A$335 million they are well on their way to being the largest in Australia – is their anyone bigger?

From their small start on the south coast of NSW in 1999 they offer tandem skydiving, hot air ballooning, white water rafting, canyoning, sea kayaking, and tours to the Great Barrier Reef and their most recent purchase of 20-year-old Far North helicopter company GBR Helicopters further diversifies this now ASX listed adventure company.

GBR employs about 80 people and has a fleet of 22 helicopters. Its operations include a commercial charter operation, and a flight training school. “Helicopter flights over the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest are world-class experiences and we are fortunate to add such a wonderful product to our portfolio of highly recognisable and respected company and adventure brands,” said Experience Co chief executive Anthony Ritter.
