Australia voted “Best International Youth Destination” at the British Youth Travel Awards

This prestigious award was announced last night at a glamorous sold-out ceremony in the London’s West End.  This is the 10th anniversary of these prestigious awards and 2017 saw a record number of entries. Australia beat finalists France and Germany.

The awards are co-ordinated by the British Educational Travel Association (BETA). Sponsors include: The British Council, Student Universe, YHA, Warner Bros, Planet Hollywood.

Judges included Cultural Tourism Officer for Greater London, Head of Marketing World Travel Market, Marketing Director, Visit Britain. Judges said, “the quality of the submissions for the awards this year was sky high and it was hard to choose between the different entries”.

    Hey, Australia may have won “Best International Youth Destination” but 90% of backpacker hostels in Sydney are doing it tough this summer.
    Where are all these guys staying when in Sydney I’d like to ask.
